Bastrop Area Cruisers Car Show (Texas)

10 Oldsmobiles caravaned down to Bastrop last weekend (237 miles) & met up w/21 other Old's from Austin/Houston/San Antonio/Bastrop. Total of 375 cars (all makes) displayed/judged. We won Club Participation Award. Saturday 78 degrees, Sunday same. The Sunday shot is at the Hyatt Resort Hotel out of Bastrop; we drove down golf cart trails to position our cars beside the outdoor breakfast area. Just a great weekend, 3rd year in a row. Outstanding display of many fine restorations of all kinds. '71 Caddy convertible (black) w/gold interior, (original) bagged on the ground, w/20's & small rubber. Also a fantastic '39 Caddy coupe w/top removed and made into a convertible, bagged, no running boards, all on late model Caddy running gear w/Northstar engine. So many more. Overall winner in Olds class (we get our own class, so many of us!) was a '53 convertible w/continental kit/cream color. He/wife also had '53 convertible(black)w/polished Airstream trailer. Car has late model 'Vette motor/w-6 speed manual!

Sounds like you guys had a real great time! Nice car shots and nice story. Thanks for sharing. Just the 3rd year in a row? Keep the tradition alive and well.
