Back side,

Just wondering what to put on the backside of the bumpers, paint or bed liner ? Maybe you all have some better ideas.

The silver POR 15 is a durable product that would look OK on the bumper backside and provide some protection I think

You could try duplicolor engine enamel DE 1615 if you are looking for a silver
DE 1634 for black

The place that chromed my bumpers recommended undercoating, particularily the rear bumper. That's what I did

I second silver POR.

It's exceptionally durable, and the small amount that might be visible to those who crawl under the car and crane their necks would look more or less like plain metal.

We used it on the insides of '47 Mercury bumpers around 1980 and they still look great.

I used 3M paintable undercoat in a spray bomb. Clean well. mask it off, spray on a couple of coats.....done.

Henry. Why coat it at all? You're not making this into a DD are you? Factory bumpers didn't come with anything on the back as far as I can remember.

The place that chromed my bumper said the inside of the bumper is most susceptible to abrasion (particularly the rear) and you never see it. They rust through from the rear and then it's too late. I used the 3M sprayable too.
