back seats

back seats

Is there a trick to pulling out the back seats on my 73 olds. Iv'e pulled and pulled and still can't get it loose.

Are you talking thr bottom part? Take your knee and bounce it down and back, while pulling up. Do one side at a time. If you take a light and look under neath, you can see the latch, and will make it easier to uderstand. It can be tought some times, and hard to put back in.

Thanks. I will give it a try tomorrow. It's been so long since I have worked on a car but it's fun just getting out and trying. This forum has been great to offer help.

I'm not positive, but believe the hooks under the seat are similar to the 1967 pictures in this thread. Hope this helps!

I always push in with my knees, feet on the front seat back, and pull up from there.

It's been a while, but I believe the '73 has a 7/16 bolt on each side with a large fender washer attached.
