hi i have a 54 olds that im looking to convert to auto to stick , im haveing trouble finding a stick 54 , i want to know if other year olds like 55 or 56 would work , or can i swap from a 54 pontiac or buick , thanks JOE

 

I know the 55 Olds will work and am pretty sure the 56 will work. They are going to be hard to find. The Pontiac or Buick trans might work (actually doubtful) but the bellhousing will not because those are competely different engines. They did not have BOP bellhousings in those days. Good luck.

With two exceptions, my Olds experience has been limited to Hydros.

The H. A. M. B. would be the best place to ask.
