Asking Price 1969 hood

I have a stock (double hump) hood for a 1969 442. What is it worth? No dents just some nicks and scratches since being put in storage. No rust. What's a fare asking price?

Thanks

Anyone chime in please? The picture is right after I sealed it. Since it's been wrapped and in storage (7+ years) it needs to be redone and the 'tooth' is toast but it's straight and rust free...how much should I ask? 500?

$500 asking price sounds reasonable for starters, but if it's original to your car you might consider hanging on to it.

Thank you. It is original to this car but I can barley move it and it's just me here. I'm just putting it back together to sell so a fiberglass one is tempting (and a lot lighter).
Thanks

Cheaper to rent 2 neighbor hood kids to help you bolt the original hood back on than it is to buy a fiberglass hood and have it shipped. Plus, the basic fiberglass hood needs pins to hold it on, as the factory latches wont work
Fiberglass will also require a couple hours( at least) to prep for paint
If you were keeping the car, and wanted it to be lighter, I could understand the investment, but to just sell the car, its kinda a money loser unless youre putting on a functional OAI(W30) style hood

I'll see if I see a few older kids around. I like the look of the ram air and don't kind doing a little body work.
i like the ram air look but not the price....lol ill keep an eye out next time in walking the dog for some kids who want to earn some cash...

Thanks!

Took me months to sell one in as good shape last year for $200. It was a 1970, they can be modified to work both 1969 and 70. Also correct on a Cutlass S. Bought a 69 for the same price.
Also sold a perfect flat 1969 supreme/vista hood last year, also $200.
Not a lot of demand for these, everyone is infatuated with the scoops. I think the double hump hoods with painted stripes look great. And they’re a nice change from the scoop hood bandwagon.

Precisely. They're not worth much because everyone has finally put an OAI hood on all 70-72s and is now putting them on all 69s since they ran out of 70-72s. Legitimacy used to be valued, now everyone is a poser. That hood used to be special, it meant a W car or a person who knew enough to special order a car to suit him, now we're seeing them on four doors.

Stack up some brown corrugated cardboard, in the corners of the cowl carefully pivot it up on the hinges, and hold it up with the handle of whatever yard implement is handy. Then, you can go around and install the bolts from the side. Start the bottom 2 first.
