Looks mid-late 1920s. I'll have to ask my friend.

My first guess, late 20's Packard sedan.

I was going to say the same but the 8 lug wheels threw me off. Did some have 8 lugs.

last post had it right. Looks to be a 1928 Packard 526 4 door sedan. Giveaway for Packard in general would be the hexagon hubcaps which would have been red. hope this helps

Wow, You guys are good. Thanks. My grandparents were not that well off. I am suprised it was a high end car.

depends on when they owned the car how much it cost. By the time the US was in the middle of the depression some of those cars were going pretty cheap and if you were lucky enough to have a good job you afford one.

That's true. My grandfather was a truck driver for milk of magnesia. What an odd product. Can you imagine making a living doing that with 5 kids.

Why not? Lots of irregular people out there who need regularizing, even today!

My friend couldn't access the pic, so I'll download it and see. He knows Packards very well so he should be able to reiterate and perhaps add more detail.

However, I was hoping it was an Apperson Jackrabbit. :-)

Friend says "Packard, 1928, probably a Series 526 126-inch wheelbase Six. Cowl lights were an option."
