That balancer is unique to the W-31 motors and there are no repros. Of course, there are no bids at that level either, so as I've frequently said in the past, don't confuse asking price with selling price. Until cash actually changes hands, the numbers are meaningless.

On the other hand, if I had a complete W-31 that was missing this balancer, I'd certainly consider buying it.

Edit after really looking at the ad: It's CRACKED? Geeze, so is the seller!

The link isn't working for me. However, I wouldn't buy a harmonic balancer used, especially if it was damaged. You can buy a new one from Summit for about $100.

I had heard there is someone that is repro-ing the W-31 balancers or at least has a prototype and is taking orders. Maybe I read it on RealOldsPower.com. Not sure.

Not one that's correct for a W-31 resto.

Because he thinks his stuff is worth more than it is or he is just hoping a fool comes along. This is the same guy that's been trying to sell a pair of NOS 1970 S/Rallye grilles over and over on Ebay for the last 6 months for $900.
