Any Houston members?
Any Houston members?
I will be in Houston in early February with my family and i was wondering if there is anything car related to see while we are there? We are going to visit NASA but that is all we have planned. Any advise on good restaurants or even places to avoid is appreciated thank you.
Houston is huge - what area will you be staying in?
I lived there for 10 years. Lots of good restaurants, just depends upon what type of food you like. NASA is southeast in Clear Lake. A lot of good seafood places nearby in Kemah.

We are looking at hotels near NASA. We are in the Midwest so looking to try some Texmex or local cuisine. We will only be there 4 days and i would like to sneak some time in to check out any 64-65 cutlass i could bring home.
Houston sights
I grew up in the midwest, but have lived in Houston for 36 years now. Lupe Tortilla is a great local TexMex restaurant chain (there is one near NASA). And the Lonestar Flight Museum is worth the price of admission. Sorry, can’t help you out with the ‘64 Cutlass request, I’m a ‘72 Cutlass/442 guy myself.
If you want to really do it up right, stay in Galveston and eat at one of the better seafood restaurants.
My hotel of choice is the Tremont, while a bit pricey, it is a great place to stay or the Galvez..Both are older renovated hotels.
The best seafood in the area is at Guidos or Black Pearl.. both serve fresh Gulf of Mexico seafood.. better choice than TexMex, which you can get a lot of places..
There is also a huge Christmas theme on the Strand in Galveston.. Really something to see and many other attractions including Moody Gardens..
Galveston is just down the road from NASA and pretty easy to get back and forth.
Good luck and Merry Christmas,
Thirdcoast
BTW, I have a 64 Cutlass Holiday Coupe that is going to be for sale.. If interested, email me : Thirdcoast47@gmail.com
