So these annoying ad feeds just started popping up when I'm on the site and they block the ability to view/select subcategories. Is anyone else having this problem and how do I disable it?
Try changing your Google Chrome Browser to the Samsung Internet Browser or maybe Safari Browser. Would not surprise me in the least Google Chrome (heavily Advertisement laden) Browser interface places ads in the least conspicuous (most prominent) location(s).
Samsung 23 here. Samsung browser with ABP and Samsung ad blockers does the trick for me. Occasionally, the ad blockers need turned off and back on, but it takes care of the ads.
If you want to continue to use the world's most invasive Browser interface (Google Chrome) replete w/ default allow all ads I highly suggest you change your Browser.
What many don't understand is the default settings of a Browser is to allow all ad pop-ups UNLESS the end-user specifically configures settings to over-ride default settings; and, this is very cumbersome (deeply buried) in Google Chrome. I use iPhone SE + Safari Browser + uBlock Origin Lite and receive not Ads.
Have you tried uBlock Lite on your Samsung Galaxy w/ Google Chrome. Unfortunately, far too much leeway is afforded to the many advertisement marketing vendors (e.g. Google Chrome). The end-user is now nearly entirely responsible for any attempts at ad-blocking; although, in case you missed my point....Chrome is the absolute most invasive Internet Browser known to humankind. Unless you try a different Browser you won't know for sure will you?
I don't mean to pour on, but I have the same issue. Setting: pop offs>off
You're quite welcome to pour on. There are MANY Browsers available to use. Google Chrome makes it the easiest Browser (for the un-knowing end-user) to use - complete with enormous tracking and invasive ad behavior. Unfortunately, they made it so easy, they also make it very easy to allow all ads & track all your behavior. And, this is highly dependent on the phone manufacturer and the OS version loaded on your phone. Google is extremely smart. They are in the business to SELL MARKETING ADVERTISEMENTS. Try a different Browser, Edge, Firefox, Safari, DuckDuckGo, etc. I am a huge fan of uBlockOrigin.

Good feedback. So much is dependent on phone, OS version and Browser. Glad you found a solution for your phone. 👍
I have never received any advertisements on ANY website on my desktop PC. I likely have several FREE uBlockOrigin FREE extensions enabled, including Privacy Badger. Occasionally, I 'might' see a Google Ad slip through on my iPhone SE + Safari + uBlockOrigin Lite extension. Every phone manufacturer is different, the OS versions are many, and there exist many Browsers. The end-user needs to try which settings are the most applicable by trying them, changing them, searching on-line, etc. It is not a one-shot-fits-all. It requires work to figure it out. I'll add to this. IB CO Website is in strong collusion with Google. Do your own research on CO find out how many times/day Google Spider & Google Sense walk this CO website.
Google makes the vast majority of its money—typically over 75%—through digital advertising.
Pursuant to advertising on the IB CO website. You give full permission for IB to employ cookies while you are browsing the CO website. If you want to be bothered with eliminating all advertisements you'll have to MANUALLY configure your COOKIE SETTING specifically for this CO website....something likely most any CO member does not want to be involved with...because, it's a significant amount of work to manage Session Cookies & Persistent Cookies, through which the CO website serves up dinner (in the form of advertisements).
We also have implemented and use Google Analytics Display Advertising, specifically the Demographics and Interest Reporting feature to advertise online, sell advertising, and develop content.
I am a member of another Internet Brands site and I'm not seeing the pop up advertisements.
I'm a member of several other IB forums, as well & I don't get pop-up advertisements. So much of this is HIGHLY dependent on whether the end-user is using a desktop PC, mobile device, iPhone, Android, tablet, laptop, etc. the OS and OS version, the Browser & Browser version, and end-user configuration parameters.
This nonsense just started last couple days. At one time if you were logged in to the CO site you didn't get bombarded with advertising. Apparently now you do.
I realize someone has to cover costs of a website. However I believe the individual who realized the internet could be used as a gigantic all-encompassing advertising platform should be smacked hard upside the head.
The one who figured out you could get people to pay to get rid of ads needs to be hogtied and then thrown into a hog lot with hogs that haven't fed in a few days.
Hogs will do the dirty work, buzzards will clean up the mess.
Hm. Maybe I've been listening to too much Blue Oyster Cult tonight!😄
It's a benefit to listen to BOC. Yet, the manner in which the Internet has shifted is basically via the employment of BOTS and AI.
At one time (the majority of time the World Wide Web existed from its foundational development from ARPANET), Spiders were allowed to crawl websites gleaning information used for Search Engines - yeah, well those days are gone thanks to capitalistic marketing firms (e.g. GOOGLE); where once it was a benefit to have a BOT crawl a website to feed a search engine, today we have moved into DATA MINING through which (until just very recently) websites themselves control which BOTS are allowed to crawl the site. Now, a website configures who is allowed to crawl their website via the great American Greenback ($$$). If a BOT wants to crawl the website, the owner of that BOT must pay cash money in order to crawl a website. See the shift....at one time a BOT fed great Search Engines. Not today, the website expects to be paid American Greenbacks to allow any BOT to crawl its site. Ain't happening for free any longer. It's all about DATA MINING and marketing.
If you go to 'Who's Online' in the 'Tools' (top of any page) and scroll through the pages of 'Who's Online' you can take note of the many number of times per hour per day the Google Spider & the Google AdSense Spider crawl this CO website. Google & IB are in serious collusion. But, it isn't only IB...it's rampant.
In order to stop ads, you have to go to enthusiast browsers and ad blockers. U block Origin is by far the best at the moment. Most Chromium browsers won't run it. Opera still can. Firefox, other than being a memory hog, is probably the best bet as it allows you to plug in extensions on the mobile version as well. Brave is another browser choice. Ublock's people get personally offended at youtube's efforts and fight them daily. I do most of my communication here through PC, so it's Firefox and ublock origin at home and at work. I do use the samsung browser sometimes on my phone, but it lets ads through. I don't do much on it so I don't care much.
