Alternator bracket interchange

I broke the alternator bracket on my 260 V8 with AC. What brackets would interchange?

Depends on the year. The easy answer is any SBO bracket from a comparable year, but there may be more options depending on your exact year.

I'd say if it looks approximately like your broken one, it's right.

You found one via that thread, right?

There's the RH mount no-AC iron/steel bracket set, then LH mount steel brackets for with AC, then the G-body era set you have, which almost always have AC therefore LH mtd alternator. There are not a lot of different ones.

Possible exceptions: Toronado engines, and Pontiac 403 applications.

Any LH side AL bracket from the Olds car Olds V8 engine of the 78+ era should do for you.

I found a 1985 Toro at the yard today, but the bracket was different.

Manipulated a steel bracket from another 260 I found at the yard. Year unknown.
