If your car is not 100%Olds,I would suggest you sit this show out.Unless they have new people running it or they have learned some manners. The first show I went to was in 2005 at Schaller auto world in NB,where by the way is where I bought my first car in 1972.I drove in with my nearly flawless 64 Cutlass. Now understand I am a car guy,I own 2 64 Cutlass's,a66 Bonneville,69 Boss 302,97 F250 and a 2006 Roush Mustang. All pure except for the one I brought to this show, when I got it it had(oh the horror)a chebby engine.I was told to park it by the dumpster.I took it in stride thinking it was a poor attempt at a joke.Untill the end of the show.I sat out in the hot sun(it was unseasonably hot that day)along with everyone else. When I was given a runner up trophy I was told."It's not an Oldsmobile"I thought that was rather rude,so I came back the following year with the car all done over ,new interior, body ,paint, chrome, you name it.Took runner up again. The cars that won first and second were in serious need of work.Guess what,"it's not an Olds with a chebby engine.I'm thru now, that's been buggin'me for 7 years.
And I know I'll catch **** for this, but ,I really don't care.A car is a car is a car is a car .And I like them all.If some one could shoehorn a BBolds into a mini cooper I would be the first to applaud.Any thing to put a classic CAR on the road and make it run is ok in my book,as long as it's tasteful.
Some pictures of the Chebby engine.Right now the car is undergoing another transformation.Shaved door handles ,moldings and letters removed.Candy apple red over meteor red metallic and a new white interior.New hotchkiss susp.and fuel injection.

SORRY about what happened in 2005
. We have lightened up our judge criteria bit it still is an "All Olds Car Show". Several attendees do not have Olds motors but that doesn't keep them away
. A new venue and showdate since 2005 should address other issues as well. Hope you reconsider and come to our show this year
.
Rooms at the Days Inn
For anyone coming to the all Olds car show on 9/23 from out of state:
The Days Inn is offering a flat $60 day rate for those who mention that they are going to the show
. They can be reached at 1-860-828-4181, and don't forget to mention the show.

I don't think he has a dyno.I've used him for machineing and parts purchases only. And just so there is no confusion, this is not an Olds engine. His specialty is ford, but he will work on all american makes I think.I know I've got some poncho heads from my 66 389 that he is going to work on for me.Phil is extremely **** when it comes to his work.He does amazing work.
It couldn't hurt to give him a call. The worst that could happen is he would say no.In which case I'm sure he could steer you in the right direction.Dalenas in New Britain is another machine shop that comes to mind, but I don't even know if they are in business anymore.
