For all the guys that want huge horsepower in a stock car.

This video is for all the guys that come on this site and talk about putting 496cu. in. or turbo or super charged engine in their otherwise stock car that has 40+ year old components. This is what happens.

You gotta crawl before you walk.

Painful to watch, seemed like a nice car. Added horsepower will bring out the weak points in a power train.

That's funny, I collapsed the control arm on the drivers side on a 73 cutlass I had back in the day, lucky it didn't go that far.

Funny video, but it's hard to say the failure is 40 year old components... I've seen plenty of failures from brand new equipment from people that buy the cheapest part possible or don't install it properly... There's a video from a few years ago where a 3rd gen camaro ripped out the ladder bars right on the starting line at the track, probably a home brewed special...

This is hilarious lmfao. I wouldn't have stopped not much I could do unless I have a flat bed. I sheered the ring and pinion on my ex's k5 blazer and luckily it happed right after take off from a light but even at 25 mph I had the 35's hoping and skidding lol. It was 2am. And a tow truck happed to be driving by and he towed me home for 45 bucks cash lol. This guy might have a harder time getting onto a flat bed lol.

Looking at it slowed down it appears that the right U-bolt failed to secure the rear in place and the rear starts driving forward until it hits the wheelwell on that side causing bouncy-oh **** carnage to ensue. That's a kick in the pants for the unsuspecting new owner, but i know i've driven a newly purchased car without checking every nut/bolt in my suspension... could have been me, probably anyone really. Hope he's able to put it back together.

A buddy of mine in high school had a 79 malibu with a pretty warm 350 rocket in it. He was doing a smokey launch in front of his house, when he had gotten down the road a bit and the front u joint "expired". The driveshaft dug into the pavement and wadded it up, but not before it beat the transmission tail shaft to death and "recontoured" the floor pan. Obviously not the kind of damage as in the video, but stout running engines + stock components sometimes equals trouble.
