Turnout is usually 120-150 cars. The show is co-hosted by the Capitol City Rockets and the Metro Chapter of BCA, so we usually get a high percentage of Oldsmobiles and Buicks, ranging from the 1920s to today. Remember that we're talking about D.C. in August, so expect it to be a swamp (hot and humid). I'm sorry that the CCR website hasn't been updated recently with the show info. I'm the webmaster (as well as chapter president) and I've been pretty busy lately. I'll get the 2012 flyer uploaded today. Hope to see you all there.

The show is in a large parking lot with trees around the perimeter. There are usually several popups around the edges, but I don't recall anyone putting one up at their car before. You can see if there's room, or else set it up at the sides if you want. I have a 10x20 canopy that I bring for the club.

Would y'all grumble if yer past Zone director showed up in a Mercury, just to look around? None of the Oldsmobiles are ready for a 10 hour round trip. I'm stupid sometimes, but not stupid enuff to take an old car that hasn't been driven in a while on a tour like that.
I've never been to this show since it moved from Templeton Oldsmobile to Montgomery CC. Doesn't look like there's any good way to get there that avoids the damn Beltway.
If you're keeping the same classes as 2011 Class L needs to be amended to include Starfires and possibly early Wildcats. The Starfire was personal luxury before Pontiac/Chevrolet/Buick ever thought about it. You must remember the Starfire entered the market aimed dead at the Thunderbird- which up to that point had defined the personal luxury class.
And I will argue that point with anyone who tries to class a GP or Monte Carlo as personal luxury while saying the Starfire isn't.

By the way, I agree the Starfire is quite reasonably regarded as a personal luxury car.
Sorry for the diversion!

Well my V6 pickup must have been at its limit towing the Cutlass 600+ miles because it didn't like the 442. The truck was getting tossed around. Might have been something as simple as weight distribution but after removing the cover not liking how it was moving in the wind and then the rain started it was time to turn around. Trailer brakes were intermittent which didn't help. Until I get a bigger truck I'm limited to driving distance only.

Hey 67olds442x2, it is not a good idea to tow with car cover as the wind will move the cover in which will scratch the paint. Also the car needs to be closer to the truck to put more weight on rear axles. See my attached. Yes mine is a 3/4 ton but ive towed it with Tahoe no problem.

This was the first year my Fiancee and I made it to this show
I was going to bring my '72 Cutlass Supreme (U-Code) but decided to bring my G8 GT out instead. Given the G8 is my daily driver and required about 12 hours of preparation for the show and it has some modifications... I figured it was worth a shot
I loved seeing all the 4-4-2's and Cutlass's out there, absolute blast! Was shocked there were no Camaro's though... Especially since there is quite an over abundance of the latest generation. My Fiancee had the red '72 4-4-2 W-30 replica.
