All GM day, Sydney, Australia

G'day all
Some pics of our all GM day on the weekend, I didn't take a camera so I pinched these from a friends facebook page, not many oldsmobile there, the first 6 pics are of my wifes 55 super 88 and my badass 66 coupedeville.

I love the way most of the license plates refer to something about the car.

Nice pictures. I noticed that some of the rides have had the steering wheel conversion over to the right side. Does someone in Australia make special kits for that?

No one really converts them to right hand drive anymore, as the government changed the rules that any left hand drive car 30 years and older can be registered left hand drive, no kits really its all fabricated so is costly, the right hand drive cars are ones that have been imported many years ago before that rule came in place and had to be done in order to get registered.
cheers chris.

Thanks for the pictures, much like many shows in the US. only the quality seems better.Your wifes car looks fabulous!

Just curious, how well does the cooler work on your wifes car?My wife would love me to install AC in ours and I'm holding back trying to keep it sorta original still.......Lost in the fifties ....Tedd

Hi Tedd
The cooler is more of a show piece, but once filled with water the air passing through is cooler but it has to blow directly on you to be of any use, it doesn't cool the whole car like AC, not many air coolers over here on cars so it gets more attention than the car sometimes lol , I bought it of someone in California had it shipped over and painted it the same colour as the car and fitted a reproduction sticker, it looks great and gives the old girl a real 50's nostalgia feel

Easy dude , the rta ( roads and traffic authority ) make the rules our registration fees go to the government which in turn pay them, so I classify the rta as government, no need to carry on,does it really matter , all it means is we can leave our cars as they left the factory
