After 20 years I`m unemployed..

This is the first morning in a long time that I don`t have a job to go to...
I finalized the sale of my company yesterday and man does this feel strange

I have never even written out a resume
got some odds and ends to tie up for the next few days then the hunt will be on for something else

Good Times

Enjoy it as much as you can, its not easy but before you know it, you will be working one way or another. I hope you did well enough for yourself to at least enjoy a few moments. The challenge will be, before you know it the days will fly by and you will wonder how you accomplished absolutely nothing that day. You either have to except that as a great opportunity to do nothing that very few people get to do or make sure you put a list together and follow it.

Jobs are everywhere now as far as I can see. Here, they are thinking of going to the US to look for people rather than foreign countries, because of the shortge of people. The "help wanted" signs are everywhere again. You'll be OK. Good luck Wes.

Hope the shock of change is bare-able. I have been out of work since February 24th. At least your situation is of your own choosing. Lots of jobs but employers are being very choosey about selecting people. Good luck in your next endeavor.

Best advise I ever got: have a Plan "B" to support your family.

Critical now as the ups and downs in the economy happen faster with more impact.

Think about it now to protect your future.

Sorry to hear that. I was in your shoes two years ago, and it took me 2 months to find a job. Just keep looking and something will turn up.

From what I hear from my Canadian car buddies, it's booming in Canada.
Canadians went through a tumultuous 90's while the US prospered greatly.

They paid down their debt load, and now they're reaping the rewards of that
with a booming economy. Best of luck to you, and take a resume' class at a local
community college if you need help building one.

I think it's wise to get proper training on a document that is going to help you find employment.
Minimum of 12 size font, line spacing is 1.5 iirc, 1-2 pages tops, and keep it clear and concise with an opening statement.

Plan B was in place before plan A developed so we will see where it leads

Our economy is strong there really is no shortage of work for the most part
Canada is hiring out of the U.S. now due to lack of work force
