Looks like $800-$1000 is the asking range from what I found on the web. A "body only" sold on ebay recently for $400. What's the asking price on the one you're looking at?

$700 and the body is a little dinged up. I talked to the guy today. He told me when he researched it he found pretty much what you did. He told me one sold at BJ for $8k.

$700 seems a little high if it needs work.i emailed Kurt Shubert because I saw from looking on CO that he owns one but I haven’t heard back.

I’m thinking it would look good hanging just above the rear door in my new pole barn.

$8k? yikes!
These are cool looking and would definitely look cool in your shop. Offer a little less and bring it home!

I bought it. The nose is cracked in two places but everything else is there. Decals are all still good. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet. Restoring it will probably require repainting the while thing.

Definitely cool garage art though....

Congrats! Were you able to negotiate the price a little?

I did. I got it for $500, which is a price that, if I ever decide to sell it, seems like I can't get hurt at. It definitely wasn't as clean as I thought. The frame has been broken and welded and it wasn't welded by anyone that knew that they were doing. I saw a few pics of a very nice one and the seat had red piping on it. This one doesn't. I'm not sure how original it is. The carb and gas tank were recently replaced. It runs fine but I didn't drive it. I didn't even take it with me because it's pouring rain here. I'll bring it home later this week
