I bought a hood from a guy in NOCal a few weeks ago. He shipped air freight. I said, HUH? It cost just under $100 to ship that bad boy from San Francisco to San Diego. $100? The trucking company wanted a lot more than that. Moral of the story is at least for now, those big, outlandish parts can be shipped by airline cheaper than truck, Fed Ex and UPS. San Diego airport is a 25 minute drive. So, you gotta have a major pretty close to make it pay. It just occurred to me that it would cost you that much to check 2 bags for a trip.
