Advice Needed 1966 Toro
I need advice from you guys I am thinking of making an offer on a 1966 toronado in nice condition. The interior will need to be restored but that's no problems Body is fine but its the mechanical aspect has me concerned.
While at this point it needs a gas tank other than that it is good to go.
How and where for parts? I have been looking to find a replacement gas tank but cant. Besides Fusick anyone else?
I just finished a 1955 Chrysler St Regis which sold this past summer. Parts were really very hard to find and most had to be redone
I don't want to get into a project like that again
any advice will be appreciated
Thanks gary Lake George NY

Being a first year car that did not share a drive train with anything else until the '67 Eldorado there are many unique bits on the '66.
There are lots of parts that do interchange and are still available.
However I have not found any vendor reproducing the gas tank.
There are also no repop body panels. There is a guy in the Toronado Owners Club who is selling floor pans. I have not seen them so cannot comment on the quality.
Good luck whichever way you go!
