Advice on bumpers

Not 100% sure on the latest Re-pops but they were low quality chineasuim last I heard. That equals less metal, thinner, and reduced quality on the chrome...its chineasium. For a daily driver they could be OK, if one elected to put them on a USA made car...Can you tell Im not at all a fan of anything china.
Several chrome shops across the country generally have a core stock. Or they know where to source cores. Call and ask. They will re-chrome an OEM for you. You may have a good shop in your area. Ask for references of past work. This method will yield show chrome. AKA triple chrome. Northstar which I believe is now part of Keystone in Minneapolis/St Paul did this for me several times. Some of the best chrome Ive seen. Same for Pauls Chrome, Evans City PA. They do alot of vette stuff. The vette guys are the pickiest out of the bunch. Going this route could cost a bit more but your putting us to work and you're gettin good old vintage GM iron.
A Google search I came up with three in Texas.

Tamraz in my opinion has the best repop bumpers. I have one on my rear of my 72 and I am very happy with it. Some might say repop bumpers for the most part are junk but their triple plated bumper looks and weighs about the same as my original rear bumper that I had rechromed but never used it because I wanted rear bumper with cutouts.

I would be surprised if there were more than one factory actually stamping these repro bumpers. The demand just isn't there for multiple production sources, especially after amortizing the cost of the dies.
The bigger problem is the quality of prep work prior to plating, and the quality of the plating job. I've inspected a number of these bumpers at various vendors at Carlisle, and quality is all over the map. Some look good. Some have a rough finish on the chrome. Some are wavy. One had obvious grinding marks under the chrome.
My recommendation is to buy repro bumpers in person and carefully inspect before purchasing.

This is what I got from Tamraz. I have only good to say about them and their shipping. The guy who delivered it stayed while I inspected it for damage and found none. I'm not sure that only one company produces these though. I will say that Tamraz seems to have picked a good supplier though.
