no engine in car, nothing hooked to trans, left rear wheel won't turn, removed wheel and drum turned freely, replaced wheel and it won't turn! any ideas? thx, tomc5

If one wheel is on the ground with posi,
it won't turn.

Well, if it turns w/o the wheel
and does not turn WITH the wheel...

that indicates either wheel interference or something about tightening the nug luts.

Put lug nuts on [reversed] w/o the wheel, see which one it is.

Try a different wheel, maybe a wheel w/o a tire on it?

It's a process of elimination

How about you tell us what kind of car, what kind of wheel, and what kind of tire.

Nice descriptive thread title, by the way. It'll be really helpful for people who have the same problem in the future.

Check to make sure the shoes are fully compressed press them in at the wheel cyl. I had this recently happen to me
