Thorntons is the only way to go with a steel frame hood. He spends a ton of time making them perfect. If your in ny you could just come down and pick it up. Brandon

What other options do we have? The old OAI hood my Cutlass wasn't that great to begin with, and after 20 years I'm ready to replace it. But for $2,600 or (with shipping) I'm considering just putting a stock hood back on it.

That's really it. Every other OAI hood that I have seen is all glass.

Lee, I have a Thornton hood and I can tell ya you can't beat the quality and the fitment. I did not have to make any kind of modifications to get it to fit at all. I bought mine in 2011 or 2012 and at that time it took me over a year to get it. But it doesn't take that long to get it now. After reading the horror stories on other after market OAI hoods, Thornton was the way to go. If you do decide that you need a stock hood I still have the one I took off from my 72 and it is in really good condition and is not rusty.

Are you saying the hood on your car now a OAI ? If so you could sell it to someone who wants to restore it to offset the cost of the new one.

It is a reproduction of an OAI. It is probably worth a little bit, but not enough for me to get the Thornton!

OIA Hood

Elecman, Call Lou,203-395-6195 or email Rossi376@comcast.net Lou has a factory OAI hood that is beautiful. Inside and out. Completely redone. Just look at the pictures. That's what I would buy. Good luck. Harry
