72 Cutlass S Restore-Pictures
Well...here are some pictures....finally. I have a lot of work to do, more than I realized when I bought it. Will be a multi -year project.
Plan is to strip the body given the amount of surface that I've encountered. Even though it's indoors, with the high humidity in the Memphis area it is still rusting. Plan to have a buddy prime it with AIP 100 epoxy primer. The guys at Sherwin-Williams said this should be okay for a couple of years but most likely will have to be stripped back off. Finishing up trunk. Trunk lid is about done. On a side note, the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator worked pretty well in between the top and bottom welded panels on the trunk lid. Will use this up inside the upper sail panels below the corner windows where I have surface rust.
Would love to do a frame off if I have the time to do it. The rails look pretty good and there appear to be no holes in the floor pans. Won't know this really until I take the carpeting and seats out.
Any thoughts, encouragement, and tips would be greatly updated. Will posted additional pictures and updates as time allows.

Looks like you've got a solid project to work on Steve! As far as tips go if you've got time I'd read through the major build threads for people doing 1970-72 cars. Also, when you get to electrical Rob (lady72nRob71) has some real good threads with pictures of the work he did to his 1972 Convertible. John
Steve: Welcome to CO! Believe it or not, you WILL get it done! Do not get discouraged. You will reach a point in the restoration, when you say, "I'm gonna' finish this!", believe me. It may take 2-3 years to get there, but you will get there. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! Glad you are with us on CO, and will encourage you every chance I get.
Keep the pictres coming..............

Take your time and it will get done. You have a good starting point.
When I got mine I hung a sign on the garage wall the day I got it.
"This project is currently 3 years ahead of schedule"
I don't know when mine will get done but it will be 3 years ahead of schedule.
