72 Cutlass Door Profile

I think I know the answer to this, but here goes. Are the profiles on the 4 door cars the same as the 2 door models?

Hi Allen
I was thinking yes as I can see the body line from the fender that carries into the doors on both cars. But I just measured that body line and found that it goes 6-8" further on the 4 door/wagon. The 2 door is about 38-39 inches long, the 4 door/wagon runs 45-46 going through the front and into the back door before it fades out. I learn somthing new about these cars every day! John

thx John. Just to clarify, this would be in regards to installing door edge moldings. You're saying that the curve on the 4 door would be different (further down) right?

OK Allen, now I follow you. I was focused on the horizontal line from the top of the fender down the side of the car. But more importantly the top of the door has a different shape. The 2 door curves forward as it goes up to the glass. The 4 door/wagon is straighter. Here's a couple pictures, first of the 2 door and second of my wagon. John

Thx John!
That's exactly what I needed to know. There is a package of NOS door edges on ebay right now for 24 bucks, but I didn't want to buy something that I can't use. Maybe someone on this site can use them. Seems like a heck of a good deal to me!
