It does make a difference, the 4 core radiator is wider than than the 3 core, so the brackets that hold the radiator in place have to be the correct width.
I might have a toplate in stock, that's why I was asking...

can you take of a pic of the lower core support saddles that the radiator sits on? Or, measure the saddles.
As far as your Skylark, look carefully at the frame, especially under the battery mounting area, these cars are known for developing cracks where the crossmember is welded to the frame rail.

Depends on whether or not is was damaged and how bad. Do a visual from underneath. Depending how hard you hit, you may or may not have pushed the radiator and the support back. Did the radiator get pushed into the fan blade?

Then, it sounds repairable, as that should seperate from the support.

Sounds like you might need another core support if the top portion is bent, they're hard to straighten. Pry the hood up so you can see the damage. Alas, your bumper brackets are probably bent.

This is a side profile of my '71 Supreme, note the squared off roofline and rear fenders. The "S" has the fastback style roofline and rounded rear fenders. 1970-1972 body styles only. Then again with the new colanade styling, this was repeated from 1973-1977. The pre '70 bodies were the same, and it was a trim option, with the Supreme generally more upscale.

There is not much of a difference with in the front of those cars but everything from a 71-72 cutlass interchange correct

The "A" body frames are pretty much the same, just use the 350 Olds motor mounts and frame mounts, and it should bolt up.
