I've seen this in those old Nu Finish car wax commercials. This should buff right out and look brand new (even after 50 car washes).

The sheet metal does look pretty straight.
What did you wind up getting her for? It should be a fun project for a while, just don't rush it. Have fun and enjoy. Welcome to the land of '71 Supreme ownership.

thanks 8k
Runs excellent 350 Rochester 2 barrell
its needs Tires ,Top.interior paint Some trim pieces yes fun project. Just been getting all the lights working with great success trunk glove market lights etc.. this one sucks but the gas gauges reads over to the hot light? Could it be a ground or sender hopefully I don’t wanna pull the tank just yet. Gonna ground wire by tank when I get a chance and if gauges pins the. It’s usually the sender correct?

cleaned the seat belts they were a mess!
i soaked them in laundry detergent

One thing that you will want to check first (depending on how long she sat), is the rubber. Mine had sat for several years and almost all of the rubber had dry rot. Even the diaphragm in the power brake booster was gone. Trust me, you don't want to be riding down the road when your brake peddle goes to the floor. It's not a nice feeling.

Make her safe for the road first, and then work your way up from there as funds allow. Heck, it was 7 years before I had the paint done.

That looks like a good project to keep you busy Johnny. I'm sure you'll get it on the right track soon. I got to say, I'd would have been tempted to give it a shot too.

Thanks. I've always been a fan of the classic Cragar look. On the tires, I went with 235/60R/15x7 all the way around. Nice ride and a little extra clearance. No rubbing in the wheel well either.

Upper rear seat was badly rotted at the botto. So I brought to my guy he said he can probably take care if it.

The browning white letter "thing" should be a long-gone problem for BFG.
I had mine replaced under warranty 2 years ago, free.
2 years in, so far so good. The original tires browned within 6 months.
It was a manufacturing defect that has since been resolved.

Nice project. Clean metal puts you soooo much farther ahead. You got a decent deal.

Is that a code 24 Nordic blue car?

heard from someone who has bunch of cars that the white letter is still on going issue And has returned tires more than once so I didn’t wanna deal with it

Lookin really nice Johnny. The repop window ***** are good and pretty cheap. They are actually clear when new. I know... When you're replacing things the old stuff looks much worse next to the new. My head rests and seat belts looked fine before I replaced the upholstery- now they look old.... Where do you stop??? But you have really done a lot in a short time- good job!!

Yhanks my thoughts Exactly where do you stop.
personally I’d rather have the Orig stuff.
The carp they make is terrible.
Those door panels I bought what junk.
look ok but cheap.
same for just about every other aftermarket part they make.

We had it right back then ! What happen to this country so to go off track. But I have a feelin my Son and other youngsters will have it very very different than we did.

What happened...
One word... Greed.
One phrase...The Bean Counters.

The repo market rarely gives us a choice of onshore vs off-shore junk.
Restored or NOS OEM is always better.
Im sure someone here has a nice set of OEM driver quality cranks. Check out the want ads and classifieds.

By the way, the car cleaned up well.
