71 Cuts W30
Did the 71 w30 with the Sport Mirrors have CONVEX or FLAT glass on the RH side. Did they update to CONVEX in later yrs with the same Sport Mirrors?
I c their selling CONVEX with or without writing for 71-77

The mirror for the 71/72 Cutlass/442 is the same shape as the 70-81 Camaro/Firebird. I think around 75 or 76 they went to a convex mirror with the “Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear” text. Yous should be flat with no text.

But if you're not maintaining a #s matching status, you CAN directly swap in a pair of 80's era G-body door mirrors so that you have the right door convex and left door remote. That's what I did on my '72 ragtop and the convex is much more useful.

As noted, the convex passenger side mirror glass didn't exist until the mid-70s. Note that while the 1970s-vintage GM sport mirrors look similar, there are a large number of different bases depending on the application. As installed, the heads should be square to the ground and not angled inward. That's a sure way to tell if the wrong mirrors are installed on a car.
