I'm looking to purchase a 71 Cutlass with a vinyl top. I've seen 2 styles of vinyl tops on 71's - One where the vinyl goes all the way to the drip rail and another that stops short of the drip rail. (shown) Is this due to a different option package? The car in question has the space between the drip rail and vinyl. I looked at OPGI and Year One and don't see the differentiation there either.
Thanks in advance!
More digging shows me that this is a "halo" style top.......not sure if that's a box you check on options or if it came in a particular package......?.
70-71 Cutlass Supremes just have this Halo top , 72 Cutlass Supreme had the top all the way to the drip edge, these are the formal roof cars, different that a Cutlass , Tim

Appreciate that green 1972! Would you mind telling me the difference between the Supreme and regular Cutlass? I've been a Chevelle guy forever and I don't know my Oldsmobile facts too well. Thanks in advance.
the cutlass and 442 were the fastback , the supreme are the formal roof line, Can't get pics to load, but google 71 cutlass 442 and compare to your above pic
