Hey. It's been a while since I visited here. Spending a lot of time on FB groups. ANyways. My 70 W30 recently started a concours restoration. During the initial disassembly, the shop crew discovered a 2nd broadcast in the drivers bucket seat shell. I had found one 20+ years a go under the back seat, This one naturally showed signs of age. This second one however, looks like new! Pretty excited with this find. First broadcast card Second broadcast card
Keep up the good work showing in both places . With a real W30 with no power steering no power brakes , 4.33 gears car . Please let us know the paint cooler of the drive shaft .
Slantflat, I started a Z thread several years ago. It's loaded with ALL kinds of suggestions as to what this code means. Nothing definitive though. Mr. Shubert was a big help in rooting through all the possibilities. There is nothing I can see that's added or omitted from my interior or Fisher Body that warrants a notation on the broadcast card. I'm leaning towards something to do with the vinyl top. I think all the Z cars I've seen have had vinyl tops. (time for somebody to shoot that down in 3...2...1... lol)
The restoration is being documented on two different FB pages. I'm not sure if Im allowed to post links that may pull traffic from this forum. So until,a mod chimes in with approval, you can PM an I will give you the info as to whom is doing the work. And where it can be watched.
My car is a 4 door sedan, with a painted top, and it has the Z. Never a vinyl. I'm on that thread and that one guy Kurt insisted it had something to do with Canada, and I said my car had nothing to do with Canada. Although that's as plausible as anything else because no one knows for sure.
My vinyl top '70 has vinyl top with Z code, tried my title search thru Canada already, did not pan out. No record in Canada. The Z code has been hashed over many times, and never solved, like Hoffa case.
Thank you. Sadly, I got distracted over the years. Very distracted. and I thought all was well in side the garage I had her stored in. I was horrified when I found 2" of water on the floor of the passenger compartment. So what should have been just a paint and detail, turned into a necessary restoration. So I went for full concours. All in right? She's scheduled for the MCACN show when finished.
