The large metal brackets have a corner cut off on the '70 bumpers, they are squared up on the '71-'72. I don't have any pictures right now but hopefully someone will post some soon. Also, I think the short tube on the corner of the bumper is '70 only & a bit longer on the '71-'72. but I think all the others are the same all 3 years.

I think I've got both 1970 & 71-72 bumpers with brackets still attached. If nobody else comes up with pictures send me a reminder next Saturday and I'll get some pictures of each. John

Here's what Scott was describing on the large brackets.

John,
Good pix, I see the difference in what you are showing but the corner I'm talking about is towards the parking light. You can see the cut off corner in the top picture.

OK, I snapped a couple more pictures before it got dark. The top two are of the 1970. The bottom two are 71-72. Sorry, I didn't have time to check the tubes.

Yes, Yes, I know this is a million years old thread but I used the search feature this time rather than starting a new thread.

I was contacted by someone looking for front 71 brackets, so while I was digging them up I decided to take pictures showing the difference.

In addition to the angled chamfers that @oldspackrat mentioned, the 71/72 is a wider bracket and has a little tab for some reason. Also the curvature (side profile) is slightly different. They are not interchangeable
.

Was sorting through some more old junky parts and decided to make a visual showing the differences in the "Rod Supports" lengths
.

More excellent documentation, thanks. The 71/72 brackets extend further rearward and that hole that the struts bolt to is further from the face of the bumper. You can see this in your photos in Post #8 also.
