Admirable goal. The assembly plant (third character) is also needed to identify the car, as each assembly plant started the sequence numbers at 100001.

very nice of you, I'll look through my list of VINs I have saved as mine is very close to that. I tend to keep track of other car VIN numbers close to mine - I know dorky.

I don't think it's dorky. Cars that were stripped back in the day are getting rebuilt now. it's nice to reunite parts that Belong to the car. If I was missing a part I would hope somebody would post it. Somebody needs to start a database of 442s know.

Vin

But isn't the car one line above the highlighted bearing the same VIN?

says auto but that could just be because it was cheaper to put an auto into it than buy all the 4 speed parts that could have been missing.

Looks like it started to go thru on a friday lot and may have been pulled for some reason. Then sold on a saturday lot. Interestingly I thought I saw that the report you posted does no longer exist. Business ceased. Maybe I am no right on that but could be.

Mecum report from "sportscarmaket.com. Although I just Googled that company and I see no mention of any kind of change. I thought I saw an announcement that the on line information would no longer be published. Oh well could have been all wrong. Sorry about stating anything confusing. Anyhow I looked up the Hemmings auction that car was in and it looks like it was sold saturday but after the lot was completed. Who knows. Nice story about the trans.

If the car is pulled from a scheduled run spot / time the info is usually removed as if the event didn't happen. When you see two different run days it just means that the car was run twice. The .1 run numbers / lot numbers mean the car was squeezed in both times for on reason or another.

Post some pics of the date and trans code as well as the VIN derivative.
