Am curious if this grille is for a 1970 cutlass only, or can it be interchange to fit a 72? I saw a 72 with a grille that read cutlass supreme.

 

I think unless you use 70 core support hood etc those grills wont fit a 72.

there are 72 supreme grills tho they look like this but w silver not black grills (I think the black ones are HO grills)

 

I have the grilles in the pictures and they came of a 71 Supreme let me know if these are the grilles you are looking for.these are the metal grilles

No, it's not a 70 Cutlass grill. That is 1971. To answer your question about interchangeability. Yes ALL 1971 A body grills will fit a 72 but 72 grills will not fit 71 (except the 442 grill) Reason is the 71's all had recessed grill designs and cut back tops. The 72's were moved forward and required a bump in the rad support in order to fit.

EDIT: that picture does show a 1971 CS grill and script. Doesn't make it the right grill for the car though. 72 CS would only have the Oldsmobile script on the DS grill.

That's actually a great comparison shot. Those grills (f85, Cutlass, Cutlass S and VC only) are NOT repopped and very hard to find. The ones for 70 442 and CS are though. The only way to change a 70 to fit 71/72 grills involves changing over the entire front clip including rad support and bumper.
