70 Cutlass heater diverter with console attachment
As Ive been finishing the last little details on this car, I noticed the heat diverter I have for console/ 8 track cars doesnt have a screw attachment to the heater box. The assembly manual doesnt seem to show this diverter anywhere. Is this just a snap in place part, or is there an attaching point that Im missing?
Can someone please post photos of the lower heat vent and applicable diverter for a 70-72 Cutlass/442 with a console, tape deck, and column shift set-ups.
Scott, the heater box I have is a slightly different shape than the one you showed here, I think. I'll grab a pic later from the other side of the diverter.
They heater core boxes on the inside of the car are different between AC and no AC. My picture shows one with AC
Of course. Mine is no AC. I can't get a pic from the other side for the life of me. Too tight. As I said, everything fits in place fine, and yes, this is my '70 Rallye. It just seems strange that there isn't a hole drilled somewhere for a screw or some other attachment for the diverter. I replaced the one that was there with this repro, and the fitment is identical. The original was broken and wasn't attached in any "permanent" fashion, either.
