No offense to Azure Blue but I'm sure the color didn't help.

Is $50K really that cheap? I mean, personally I love the color. Saw one at a show last summmer, beautiful car. Beautiful condition, too.

Oh Well ?

I looked at that car perhaps 6 times in the last 8 days . This was one of about 25 cars brought in by a dealer out of Lynwood WA . In all my visits to any of this dealers consigned in cars , there was NEVER a single person with the car ( or any of their cars ) to tell the story of anything about this car !!
This is ridiculous . One of our fellow members set me straight on the PAIR of 1970 , W - 30 , blue coupes brought in by this consignor .
Both of these cars have multiple shortcomings . Inconsistent stripe or even missing stripes . Non existence of W 30 parts and pieces from engine compartment . Having some pieces that never were on a W - 30 .
Both of these cars have had multiple sales presentations on Hemmings , E-bay , Auto Trader , over the last 3 - 4 years .
The lot # 's for this car were # 1040 . The second Twilight Blue car just sold for 82,500 including the 10 % buyers premium , Lot # 1142 .
Lot # 1092 sold for 106,700 around 6:00 p.m. tonight . That was a Red 1970 , W- 30 coupe . Much better presented car .
Barrett - Jackson Scottsdale has just become so much of a Circus . I have attended for 7 of the 12 years that I've lived here . My favorite experience is getting to know the people involved , and certain builders.
Plus , you talk to people about about cars that you never thought you might be interested in .
What really turned me off about this years show , is a new phenomenon .
It feels like respected builders are just going through the motions of putting out polished Fabrege' Egg's. The result is that it FEELS like many of the cars are just being produced for this show . I saw very little verification of authenticity . A lot of " trust me " all my friends say my stuff is the best ... Very little " Trust , but verify " .
Beyond that , prodigious amounts of sandwich board authenticity with nothing to back it up ... Kind of made me sick .
PLUS , nobody to tell you , " Hey , this car is ready to take on any power tour , run cool , run hard , not leak , brakes and drives straight . "
Maybe I ask too much ... Tomorrow , I will go see real people at the Pavilions , and seek further opinions ... there is NEVER a lack of that ...
More to follow on my favorite NEW / OLD , performance drag race video from " jstrits " on this forum . That is what it was like for me growing up . I still love cars .. Thanks , JT
