70-72 shifter cable holes in floor pan?

Are the shifter cable holes in the floor pan in the same location for the standard shifter and the dual gate shifter? I tried to look it up but I can not find anything. My W-30 had the standard shifter and I wanted to upgrade to a Dual Gate. I don't want to put another hole in the pan (other than the screw holes) so if they are not in the same place I may just keep the standard shifter.

Good question. I'll be following along as I'm planning a dual gate upgrade when the weather breaks.

Yes they are different. In the shed I have a 1971 floorpan from a Cutlass Supreme with the single gate shifter and a 1972 floorpan also from a Cutlass Supreme that had the dual gate. I may have some photos and will look to see what I can come up with. John

OK, here's some pictures. The brown one had the single gate, the silver one had the dual gate. But looking at them now I can't say this is intended to be different or just acceptable variation on the assembly line. See what you think.

Thanks John,
I think it is a deviation of the worker. I just looked at my 70 W-30 with standard shifter and it was 11.25 and then my 70 post car with a standard shifter and it was 12. I set my dual gate in my W-30 and I don't think the hole is going to work that far forward. I may need to mock up a dualgate shifter and console and set it in place and see if I need to make some changes.
