Slow progress.

Replaced the lifters and found a 7043251 carb and replaced the bottom base
with an earlier unit and it sounds pretty awesome. Has a nice lope to it.
I tried to upload a vid but seems I am missing a security token. I really wanted
for you guys to hear it too. Replaced the master cylinder on the car, it has
brakes on it for when I get the engine in. The sun has just come out today, we
have had a week of rain off and on and it is beautiful out, 72* with a 5 mph breeze. May have to take the vert out I'm thinking.

Oh yeah... That youngest boy of mine...Got home from work a little bit ago and
this is what I found, sweet. I had mentioned to him yesterday that I had it up in the air and had juiced the bolts.

Other than the wood box being filled, that ranks up there for being a nice thing to see when you get home! Gonna try that on my son......get it in a frame Adam

I'm ready, just doesn't feel like Dec. here though. 74* sunny with a
4 mph breeze. Sorry Sam Man, but crazy is all I can say.
Summer is hotter than heck, but Winter months are sweet.

You boys up in the Great White North make 2 more ruts in the snow,
in tandem with your footprints, I bet.

The last 3 pics are happening as we speak with Gram Ma and me, and that 70's show
making noise in the back ground.

Thanks David. Enjoying this weather? I'm taking the vert out at least one day this week after work. It's just to nice out not to. And the Grand kids Love it. Grins ear to ear.

Here's a better pic of the build sheet. I can almost read all of it.
Not sure who ordered it this way, but they did a fine job.

Congratulations on finding the build sheet to help document this car! I'm not holding my breath on my 70 Lansing cars to find one. :-(

Thank you sir. I was tickled needless to say. I have heard they have even been
found hiding in headliners or in the seat backs of the stratos. I never even found a scrap
of a build sheet or broadcast card in my Lansing built 69 442 and I have tore it almost
completely apart. I do need to check the seat back of the passenger bucket though...
Maybe I'll get lucky, but probably not.

I'm enjoying this great weather also. So glad we aren't up to our knees in ice this year.

Adam,
Cool deal, interesting it is also a w25 car.
My build sheet also had customer order on the lower right. I think it's a pretty good survivor build sheet.

I missed that Troy! Thanks for that. Now if I can afford a hood. Would this car have had
the flapper breather unit or the one with just the small lid topper?

Good catch! Bonus Adam. Wonder if it had the OAI setup?

I can't tell Ted. I did find these 2 crusties in the trunk. That tells me along with the build sheet, that it least had the OAI hood. But what breather?

I do have a couple of choices. I think the OEM one pictured may have
been what it came with but I am not completely convinced.

I thought the w25 was the hood and the flapper, but I 'll let the experts weigh in.

I think it is interesting that both of ours are Fremont cars and both have the w25. May not have any real significance, but it is neat to me. Yours is more legible than mine. You need to look but it can be seen.

Cool Troy, I see we both have the L-31 engines. Did yours come with the flapper unit? Whatever mine had it was missing, but the OEM unit and 4 core rad I found came from the same place that the car came from. But the 'ol boy had a ton of other stuff too. Like a dumbass, I passed on an OAI hood for $1200. It was probably the original.

I need to send this to you. It came from a trunk lid of a 67 Cutlass I parted.

Congrats to both of you on the build sheet finds. I see there are blanks for the engine numbers and trans numbers. Did these sheets ever have those filled in or was that handwritten on another copy later in the process?

No flapper with mine, most of engine accessories are missing. Probably, thrown away for a chrome one. Fortunately I have most everything brackets, a/c, etc from the Cutlass.
Yes, you should have bought the hood, always good to have one in case you need it.

Adam, the weather is great and time spent in the shop working on the SOB's has been very pleasant lately. The Olds is ready to roll with just a few minutes notice.... let me know when!

Merry Christmas to you and the family and y'all have a great Holiday if I don't see you before then!

Merry Christmas to you and yours Dave. We'll have to get together soon.
I got underneath yesterday with a gas soaked rag and got the crud off of
the trans tag, yep, 70 OG 0822. I'm guessing the 0822 is a build date?
I will have to look on the other side to see if it has it's # to match the VIN.

From what I've read, the 0822 is just a trans serial number which has nothing to do with the build date or any other number on the car. Someone step in if I'm wrong on that.

Test video.

Bronze engine is a 68 F block for the 69. I built it 6 yrs ago for the 69 442.
It has a 4 speed crank for the M-20 or 21 under the bench, or the Buick G/N
2004R that needs to be built sitting beside it. That was then. Still have it all though.

Blue 73-76 Fa block was built for the 70 442 project. Both the car and engine fell in my lap and with a little work this engine runs great as well. Blue unit has an auto crank with the boss for a 4 speed, maybe a 73 engine. I have never been able to post a vid so this is just a check. If it works I'll see if I can show one fired up.

Apologies for not giving an updates until now but it sure makes for slow progress when you have more than one project and your making payments on a sweet 66 442 vert driver too, ha. It's a sickness you see.

Well, the video didn't post so here's a few pics of the two engines.
Both run really sweet too. What to do, what to do...
