Have a bit of a problem have a external regulator on firewall set up now; want to convert back to OEM status - noticed to make it work they spliced wiring harness - My Thoughts are this since I now have a original 1969 alternator with the correct INTERNAL REG all working & load tested ready to go - is by the correct wiring harness from one of the best vendors & mount the alternator install wiring harness & make it a plug & goAm I right or am I missing something? Any help is appreciated Thanks

Hey Al Did you give American Auto Wire a call? They make very good stuff. I'm pretty sure what you need is the Engine Harness. I'm not a 100% though so ask them.

It should be pretty easy to convert back. The hardest part will be undoing whatever hack job wiring was done. The regulator and all the related wiring can be thrown out, all that is needed is the white wire from the electrical bulkhead to the alternator connector. It’s the same wire they would have used for the external regulator, it just needs routed back to the original style alternator
