69 cutlass vin
hey everyone, trying to figure out what my cutlass used to be before i bought it. vin: 342879Z111420
i dont really have much more info on it right now.factory paint used to be gold by the looks of the inner door where the crappy paint is flaking off. i know the motor and trans are from a different vehicle (motor is post 1974 350 i believe.) by the looks of the floorboard it used to be a original 4 speed. has 3.42 gears. cant tell you much else. anyone that can help me decode the vin would be much appreciated.

1969 Cutlass Supreme 42 Holiday Coupe 87 built in Fremont CA Z assembly plant.
You'll have to give us the info off the body data plate underhood to find out original paint and interior trim. Most Fremont car plates have some differences from the other assembly plants.
All Supremes were 350 V8. A four-speed Supreme would be very uncommon.

Thanks a bunch, ill have to get the data plate info and post that next.
i havent heard of a 4-speed one either so im not keeping my fingers crossed on it but the hole in the cab says otherwise. also didnt believe they would come with 3.42 gears. seems like something a sports coupe of that year would have. dont really know much about it but it is interesting finding out new things like this.
