69 442 alternator rebuild help

Hello everyone,
I just purchased this alt for my 69 442. My 442 was built in May of 69 and the date on this Alt. is 9C21 so it works well for my car, As you can see from the pictures its in pretty bad shape. is there any hope for rebuilding this. If so who would have the parts I need. Any help or recomendations would be appreciated.
Thanks Scott

It looks a bit crusty, but I have seen worse. As long as the cases are not broken it can be resurrected. If you do it yourself, I have any parts you may need. If you want someone else to do it send it my way. That was a nice find.

Oh my. That is ugly. Maybe an aluminium weld and re tap. Better find a good welder cuz if he farts up the end is gone.. Might try JB weld.Normally I would say it is junk, but being an 853 it would be worth trying to save.

Your best bet would be to contact Patton (70post) on here. Greg

looks like the wollard out hole is moving down toward the base. seperate the case and have a machine shop get a ture round hole then have a aluminum plug made to press fit then drill a new hole? looks like there is enough meat on the top and sides to save it.

I absolutely think that the op alternator is easily reparable. If the stamping is legible and no major damage to the housing, I would certainly repair it. Regarding the other poster’s housing, if you cannot find anyone local to TIG that up and Patton is unable to help, I have a contact who could salvage that housing reasonably. Do not toss it!
