68 Delta Custom 2 door
So i was in Blanco TX the other day doing some work.
I came across this Olds...
The story goes, He aired the tires up, pulled it out of a field,
brought it home dumped gas in the carb, hot battery, and it
fired right up after sitting Who knows how long.
I belive the part about it firing right up, Oldsmobiles just seem to
do that.
I has a little more rust than I like to see. But, the cool things
about it are, the first gen 455, complete car, with a kicker...
Factory buckets and console shift! Tilt and telescopic.
I am curious as to how rare the buckets and console are
on the B body 68 Delta. The car is also very straight as well.
He said he would accept $2500 cash. Any thoughts?

I had one just like that several years ago, but it didn't run. It too had more rust than I wanted to mess with so I parted it out. If I could turn back the clock I would save it as they are very cool full sized cars. Mine also had a rim blow steering wheel, if you look at the car again check for that.
I have also seen one 1968 Delta Custom with a bench seat so not all got the buckets/console setup. I've no idea on the production numbers but if you need a project I'd look very close at it, maybe offer less money and see if he takes it. John

i've had a couple myself, still have one of 'em... if a guy is lucky enough to come across one great but as a teenager i flogged the "ever livin ****" out of a nodular crank and can confirm that if they have proper clearances and constant oil flow 99.9% of us can't break one...
just the same the forged crank is a neat thing to have. the one i have has been turned .010/.010 and needs turned again... i've thought about having it hard chromed back to standard but thats about $1500 and don't know if its worth it to me to do it...

I am really on the fence as to go for it or not.
Surely there are some who could use parts.
I don't think he would scrap it. However my
energy level is not what it used to be either.
Maybe someone out there would like to have it complete?
If I see enough interest on it, I would go back with my
camara and take pics...
