68 Cutlass S
68 Cutlass S
My son and I are building him 68 Olds Cutlass S. We are looking for a place we can find general information on building the car. We have already rebuilt the engine, trans and front suspension. Also converted front brakes to disc brakes. Used the real olds gold for the engine. Just looking for good sights. any suggestions.
A good first start would be to join Wild About Cars. In their Auto History Library tab they have technical information, factory publications, photo archives, factory brochures, and more.

Also, use the search button on this site. There is a wealth of information in the threads. And just go and browse through the various forums. Most of what you are looking for has been asked, and covered before.

Welcome, post some pictures of your project. We all love father n son projects. How old is your son, ans where are you located? This site has a wealth of info in the tech section, and as stated above you can search the forums.
68 is a little different animal because a lot of stuff is one-year-only, and it doesn't seem to enjoy the repro parts support the 69-72 do though that is getting better. It is still my favorite 3rd gen Cutlass, both for styling and simplicity. Not near as much stuff on a 68 to go wrong.
WAC is an excellent resource but there is nothing like having your own copy of the shop books and sales literature.

For me, this is the best site by far for Olds info. And ditto Jeff regarding wildaboutcars. They have a quality print '68 assembly manual that you can download for your personal use for free (the reproduction assembly manuals you can get on ebay have poor resolution on many of the pages, and some of the pages are missing). Also, look for and buy a '68 Chassis Service Manual. That, and the assembly manual, are pretty good in telling you how things come apart and go together.
