So as many of you know, i have been in the hobby for many many years, and used to consider myself kind of a guru on the restoration of 68-72 442's. I have been out of the hobby for the last 8 years due to a very messy divorce and some serious life challenges. I bought what I thought was a 68 442 convertible, and was duped by someone who went to a lot of trouble to try to fake the car as a 442. Many of you know the whole story, so I won't bore you with it here. I will be now parting the car out to try to get enough money to buy a 68-72 442 project. Being out of the hobby, I have honestly lost touch with what the true market value is for many Cutlass and 442 parts. I will be selling all the parts on the car, and really just want to sell rather quickly, but also get a fair price on everything. I really dont know what to ask for a lot of the parts- don't want to over-price them, but also don't want to get taken...that being said, just a few examples....whats a good price to sell a good set of 68 fenders? No rust, just the usual few dings..need the proverbial "going over"...a nice southern convertible frame? Rear convertible seat that needs new covers? Just asking if there's a reference or people in the know to help me so I sell these parts quickly but still receive a fair price...Just want to be honest with people about the parts and not get taken in the process...after all, this is whats going to fund me purchasing my project.
