'67 Barris Toro for sale
It has been stretched, body mod-ed and a lounge and bar installed in back. Lots of great pics to look at.

It is a little crazy for my tastes, but it was the late 60's. Maybe H S Thompson was having some Fear and Loathing in Lansing

Take a zero off and i'll buy it. I love the freeky looking cars and you have the bonus of having happy hour in the back. All you need is a big screen TV and you can also watch the football. Yeeehaaa

Motortrend interview:
MTC: There seems to be some confusion. Was it you or George Barris who designed and built the TV car for the Monkees, the Monkeemobile?
Jeffries: That's one of many bad spots in regards to that man. He sure does take credit, but he had nothing to do with it. I made the car. Every bit of it. He also says he made the Green Hornet's car, still does to this day. He puts his name on a lot of things he had nothing at all to do with."
I knew Jefferies had a lot to do with the car, I have a picture of him with the Monkeemobile on the wall in my garage, but thought Barris did at least something b/c Barris tells everyone's he did work on the car. What a shame he's a liar. I'll change my comment to, "Any guy who made the Batmobile is alright with me"...but DO NOT respect the lying!!!

Here's the deal. Barris bought the cars-(Monkee Mobile and Green Hornet Car) and by doing so gained the copyrights on them after the shows were over. Thus able to say they were his. He had nothing to do with them at all as far as creation goes. I also heard Dean had allot to due with the 66 Batmobile but never tried to take an ounce of credit on it. When you get a little older and you find stuff out like this about Barris it makes you real angry. Somebody taking credit for your hard work. I use to like Barris but after that stuff was found out I wouldn't touch a thing with his name on it. Just my opinion of course.
