I've got a '67 442 conv. and am detailing the engine. Would I get penalized at a car show for having chrome valve covers on my car since it is not a W-30? I suspect that the chrome covers were available from a dealer back then, so would be an item available to purchase over the counter IF you could find them. I'd really like to put them on but won't if it would ceate a problem with judging.

 

I have Olds parts books from 66/67 which shows part #397131 chrome valve cover assembly, 1966 f85 O.A.I. It was not offered as an accessory part, only as a service replacment part.
