I found this 442 air cleaner with the FRONT logo, the thing is the snorkel faces the driver's side and has what looks like a PVC hole in it.
question is this a California air cleaner or what's the deal with the hole as my 66 442 has no hole.

That red thing should be chrome. That's the early year automatic 442 cleaner and it seems they factory retrofitted the parts for the inlet for the air pump like Larry said.

The $36k question is whether a late year automatic 442 going to CA would have this, or the one in my sig like the rest got.
