65 Vista Cruiser 3spd manual

Just recently bought this car and had envisioned making a 442 clone out of it. Buckets, console, 4spd.
Now I'm having second thoughts about cloning it because it's in pretty good shape, and the fact that it's a 3spd manual makes it fairly unique. At least I've never seen one before.
Anyone have ideas on how a 3spd manual rates on the rarity scale?

Good morning.
Sounds like a great car. Don't have production numbers but I grew up in the "60s. I would think the # and/or % of manual wagons will be low. As you can imagine most new wagon buyers would be family oriented with the Mrs. driving the little ones around. Production numbers will answer your question, I'm just checking in before I go to Mass.

There are no production figures available for that. But if it helps with your decision on what to do with it, both the M21 and M20 4-spds were available in the '65 Vista. But not bucket seats.

I'd be inclined to keep it original. Rare doesn't always mean big money, but it would be cool to have something that unusual in your collection.

Is this the car from Washington State? If it is the car is in real nice shape for it's age, I wouldn't make a 442 out of it, because of the rarity of it.

It is the car from Washington state, and I'm leaning towards what both you and 2blu442 agree on. Probably some paint & mechanics, and just keep it stock. It's different enough to keep it what it is.
Thanks!
