65 hood trim

What dictated whether you got long trim or short trim on a 65 cutlass or 442? Thanks

Short hood molding is only on F85 Cars. The 442 could be a F85 or a Cutlass in 1965.

It's right in the PIM. All 3300 and 3400 series (base F-85 cars) got the short trim. All 3500 and 3600 (F-85 Deluxe) and 3800 (Cutlass) got the long trim. The 442 package could have been ordered on either a base F-85 or a Cutlass, so 442s got whatever trim was appropriate for the underlying model.
