65 axles

Does anybody know if a right side axle fit on the left side as well or are they different side to side? Working on a 10 bolt 65 cutlass

Not sure, but I twisted both axle shafts in my '65 posi and it had to use two right hand shafts, hope someone with better memory will chime in as this happened twenty years ago.
