64-66 f85 442 ?
#2
64 is the rarest and rarely seen, only made 148 2 door F-85 442s. 65 was the first "full" year of 442 production and Olds made 1087 of em. Ive documented those remaining and those that existed in this thread.

I own a 65 F-85 442, built in late December.
66 the 442 was optional on the F-85 club coupe and the F-85 Deluxe hardtop.

F-85 based 442
No side pot metal trim, no pot metal on rear valence & short hood spear come to mind as features that identify the 1965 F-85 based version. On the interior the door pannels lack carpet trim & rubber floor coverings were standard.

the clone issue, thought about this quite a bit, I am starting with a 442 post car changing a few emblems removing some crome and switching out the back seat is it no longer a 442 not a numbers car anyway engine is a 455 with 200r4 is it not a 442 now? I also have my choice of vin numbers one a cutlass supreme the other a f85, Its my opinion that the frame/suspension is the heart of the 442 the rest is just sheetmetal. Dont plan on lying to anyone but when does a 442 stop being a 442 but a 67 f85 442 never exsited. I know a purist would only except a numbers matching car,but I just want a car to drive I know you guys have an opinion so lets hear it, Im interested, by the way great cars guys
