62 starfire . Questions.

Charlotte,NC. Anyone in the area of Charlotte have a 62 Starfire that I might
visit and take pictures of under the hood? This sure would be a big help for me . Or maybe some one will have one at the Charlotte Auto Fair in April????
Thanks, Jacks 62

I imagine if you ask, somebody on here will take pictures and post them for you.

I have a 62 SF and I can take some picts if you want. The only thing not orig is the oil breather cap, 63 SF air cleaner, engine color, and the hood insulation isn't yellow. What do you need to see in particular?

Go over on aaca.org , search for starfireelvis posts and PM him. He has an OCA Senior Preservation 62 and is as good a reference on the 1962 as you'll meet. Great guy to boot.

I lost his email in a computer theft otherwise I'd PM it to you here.

There was a nice red 62 in Charlotte area ten or so years ago but can't remember who owned it. I do remember there were a few inconsistencies on it, notably the roof sail panel stars were mounted backwards. It came to Olds show at Autofair several times.

Maybe this is the '62 Starfire in question. I took these photos at the 2011 Charlotte Auto Fair, and it was for sale. I took only one photo of the engine, but maybe it will help.

Jaunty, that's the car I referenced.

Neat installation on that Sanden compressor though it looks like they did away with the heater entirely.

Looks like a Vintage Air install on a non factory air car.

Nice job, looks like they bypassed the heater core and rerouted the heater hose from the water pump to the heater valve at the back. This would work good in a warm climate but up here we need the heater at night.
Nice looking Starfire
