56 olds trim removal help needed

56 olds trim removal help needed

I need help from anyone who knows how to take of trim moulding from a 1956 olds ...i have figured out how to get the moulding loose all the way to the door vent but cant get the damn thing loose after that..i fear pulling on it too hard and bending it..am i missing a step? thanks

I don't have a 56 but I believe you may have to lift the wind wing up to get clearance, this would entail taking off the inside upholstery to access the bolts for the wind wing. Someone please correct me if I have this wrong it's been years since I have done this...Tedd

I haven't taken mine apart but I think Tedd is right about removing the wing vent first. The post molding probably needs to come off as well. From the picture Cobalt needs to take out the window anyway.

thanks i think

i was hoping i wouldnt have to take the vent out...eee...oh well im gonna do it,,maybe when i get closer to the actual time i go to paint it..that way i can make sure i remember how it came apart...:P

I don't remember it being a problem other than removing the door upholstery,other than that I think it's only one bolt maybe two....Tedd
